At the WICSD Board meeting on September 17, 2020, West Irondequoit Foundation President Mrs. Donna DePeters presented its annual grant check to Superintendent Dr. Aaron Johnson, and Board of Education President Mr. Dave Long.

MINI-ONE ELECTROPHORESIS
Eighth- and ninth-graders in Living Environment class will get hands-on experience in DNA investigations – something they normally couldn’t do until college. Grant requestor: Nicole Denissoff, science teacher.

ACTIVE PENS IN PHYSICS
Physics students will interact with laptop technology in new ways, allowing them to enhance their use of equations, graphs, sketches, graphic organizers and flow charts. Grant requestor: Ari Kramer, science teacher.

COMPUTER NUMERIC CONTROLLED (CNC) ROUTER
Will expose IHS technology students to “G-Code,” 3D drawing and a tool that can cut a myriad of materials beyond the use of traditional hand tools.

RAIN GEAR FOR HELMER NATURE CENTER
Will provide proper rain gear for students to enjoy a great outdoor classroom lesson even during inclement weather.
